Requirements:

The style of clothing can be anything, including shorts. Day 2

After breakfast Just a short distance from Dushanbe, on a wide plain surrounded by mountains, lies the Hissar Historic Cultural Reserve. Drive to Iskandar Kul Lake (125 km) along the Varzob Gorge, and across Anzob Pass (3,373 m). There will be time for a short walk to see a 30m-high waterfall.

Day 3

Depart from Iskandar Kul to Khujand. Drive West and then to the North across the Shahriston Pass (3370 m) we will arive to Istaravshan. There are many mosques, traditional streets, and several significant madras complexes. Visit the blue domed Kok-Gumbaz Mosque; the mausoleum of Bobo Tago, a local aristocrat; the Chor-Gumbaz, and; the complexes of Sari Mazor and Hazrati Shoh.
Drive north to Khujand. Overnight in Khujand.

Day 4

Khujand, located in the north, is Tajikistan's second largest city and one of its most ancient, founded about 2300 years ago. Visit the fortress by the Syr Darya River and the Khujand ethnographic museum. In the afternoon visit the Panjshanbe Bazaar and Sheikh Musliddin Madras dedicated to a 12th century poet.

Day 5

Depart from Khujand for the Uzbek border (65km). It is possible to do this tour in the opposite direction from the Uzbek border finishing in Dushanbe.
